Cut down on plastic water bottles!

When we planned our trip to the Florida Keys, the hubs and I made a commitment to reduce plastic use. It isn’t easy. Disposable plastic products are all around us but we have to try to cut back where we can. The time we spend on the boat does make access to potable water challenging, or at least it did!

We use the Travel Berkey on the boat and are happy to report that in 2 years of splitting time living aboard the boat, we haven’t purchased a single bottle! The Berkey is a game changer. You should give it a try. They are not inexpensive. I estimate we’ve saved 550 to 600 bottles from reaching our seas and landfills! Just imagine if we all did that! And the savings from not buying bottled water has more than paid for the unit.
